Oh my goodness!  I cannot begin to tell you how fabulous this wedding was!  Having found me online, I got an email from Sophie back in December 2018, as Sophie and Scott had just booked their September 2019 wedding at The Grand Hotel in York, so knew they had to secure a photographer pretty sharpish.  I was SO pleased when she got in touch, as luckily enough... I was free!!

Like an idiot... I didn't actually ask where they lived and assumed that it was near York, given the location of their special day, as we arranged to meet just over the Humber Bridge.  This was so they could get to know me before making a decision on whether I was a fit for them or not.  As we met and got chatting, it turned out they actually lived 10 minutes away!! Hahaha!  But, we still had a good evening and a couple of weeks or so later, I was chosen as their wedding photographer.  Yay!  They even asked me to do some of their wedding stationery too... perfect.

We were in continuous contact with one another and time just flew by when we met up again, this time in York at their stunning venue, where I could really get a picture of how their special day was going to be!  Chatting over all those final details before the big day is a great feeling.  As I now have to do the majority of these consultations virtually, it is a little different these days, but, I/we still do have as much fun and the pictures I get in my mind are just as clear!

It was a cracking wedding; Sophie got ready at the hotel, so it was ideal being able to flit between her and Scott arriving with his entourage of men.  What with them both having worked in the hotel industry and familiar with the wedding set-up, they both knew the drill but you could see that it was their day and didn't let their "work heads" get in the way; they simply enjoyed every minute of it!

From the getting ready to the singing bicycle choir who decided to gatecrash our group photo session, it was the best day!  Having York as a backdrop as a newly married couple must have been the greatest feeling.  There is something quite special about a city wedding and so, here is their story in pictures!  Just how it should be.

Here is what Sophie & Scott had to say about me as their photographer:

"Lindsay photographed our wedding in September 2019 and she was fabulous. Her style and pricing were the first deciders on contacting her for a quote. Once we met her, we decided instantly that we wanted her to photograph our wedding due to how friendly, calming and professional she was. During the lead up to the wedding she was quick to respond to any queries we had and was excellent at communication.

We also decided to order our invites, table names and table plan through Lindsay and they turned out beautifully. She really wants to ensure she matches your expectations exactly and is happy to make as many changes as required based on your feedback. Our stationary couldn’t have been more perfect.
On the wedding day she made everyone feel at ease with her warm and friendly attitude. Her attention to detail is fantastic and my family couldn’t stop talking about how she fit right in to the day and captured all the shots whilst striking the exact balance needed to capture natural and formal photos.
Once the day was over, she kept in touch and sent us a link so we were able to view a handful or the first edited pictures. Not long after that we received everything else. We love so many of the photos taken on that day!

We can’t recommend Lindsay enough! She was a huge part of our wonderful day and we will most certainly use her again in the future."
